Math U See

I am in LOVE with Math U See. Well, I'm not the one that loves it so much, John Paul LOVES it. He is having so much fun!! So, for all you homeschoolers out there, I highly recommend it, especially for very active boys - LOL!

My Sewing Blog

So I've finally created it! I've been saying for a while that I was going to start a blog for my sewing and I finally took the time to do it. Of course, there's not much on it yet, but there will slowly be more to come. Check it out at http://kathrynsboutique.blogspot.com/ . I'm going to steadily add my burp rags and children's clothes to it and take orders. I get lots of phone orders and I hope this will make it easier for me to show what all I can offer.

It's the middle of January already???

And my Christmas cards are still in the box, along w/the pretty stationary I bought to write our annual letter. So.....I guess I'll just blog our letter and use it next year! Here goes:

Greetings Friends & Family-

We hope you are all doing well in the new year. We have all had a happy and healthy 2007. Our sweet little Andrew turned 1 in June. Now, at 18 months, he is toddling and babbling all over the place. Boy, do they grow up fast or what?! He loves to join in on whatever big brother and big sister are doing. His favorite words are sister, John Paul, Bella (Bewwa), no, & thank you. He is a tough little man, but is pretty mild mannered. He is a great baby and his smile just lights up our house. Kathryn turned 3 in August. She loves mothering her little brother and is also the mom to LOTS of baby dolls. She is very timid and is still very attached to mom. She loves playing in her kitchen and with her two brothers. John Paul just turned 6 and is still a fiery ball of energy. He started kindergarten this fall at the Christner Academy for the Advanced - LOL - yes, we’re homeschooling. He is a great student and is reading well already. And, although he has enjoyed learning to read, math is by far his favorite subject. We are enjoying the laid back schedule we have. We are in a lot of homeschooling groups, as there are TONS of homeschoolers in this area. John Paul also played soccer for the first time this season. His team won 6 of the 8 games they played. He even scored a few goals. He plans on playing again in the spring, but is really looking forward to when he can start football. He likes the idea of a contact sport. Like father, like son.

Steve completed his 10th year with the LA DOTD this past July. His big projects right now are the Benton Road overpass and the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge. When he’s not working, he’s spending time w/the family or hunting. He’s had a great season so far. He killed a large doe the first day of the season, and then a pretty good-size 5 point a few weeks later. The kids just had to go out and see the deer daddy killed. John Paul wants to mount the antlers in his room and now Kathryn wants Daddy to kill a deer with pink antlers for her room. We’re hoping for one more to fill our freezer for the year – it is our favorite! Steve also went on a trip with his dad this August to the PGA Championship in Tulsa. They met his brother-in-law there and had a great (and very hot) time.

Susan is still at home running and managing the household. In addition to being John Paul’s teacher, she also taught a breastfeeding class at the local WIC office this year. She is currently teaching the 5th grade religion class at church, with the help of her two little assistants, of course. She is also still addicted to sewing and scrapbooking.

We've had a pretty uneventful year this year. And even though we've had a slower pace, we still manage to stay pretty busy. We hope everyone has a very blessed 2008! Keep in touch.

God Bless!
Steve, Susan, John Paul, Kathryn, Andrew & Bella (our cat)
